Description: This plaque appears on the back of the heirloom portrait of James Dewey Elliott that hangs in the Paris Fire Department as a memorial to Firefighter Elliott, who died in the line of duty in 1936. This portrait, painted by the Chicago Portrait Company following Elliott's death and based on a 1928 photograph, was purchased by his family and later donated to the Paris Fire Department.
