On June 3, 1986, Chicago Fire Department Firefighter Teddy Jezuit suffered a heart attack immediately after a fire at a Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation landfill near O’Hare International Airport. Efforts to revive him were started on-scene, and he was transported to Resurrection Hospital where he died. Jezuit had been assigned to 12th Battalion, serving with Hook and Ladder 63 and Engine 9.
