Incident Summary

On May 26, 1985, Chicago Fire Department Firefighter Raymond Magnus was severely injured when he fell off the roof of a two story apartment building during a fire. Magnus, an eight year veteran with Hook and Ladder 35, fell when he was blinded by smoke and became disoriented. Magnus was taken to St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, where he died three days later.
