On June 29, 1915, Chicago Fire Department Pipeman John J. Stack of Engine 67 died in the line of duty while responding to a barn fire. Stack was driving Engine 67 when it collided with a Marshall Field and Company truck at the intersection of North Kildare Avenue and West Lake Street.
