Incident Summary
On July 22, 1946, Chicago Fire Department Lieutenant Hans Jacobsen of Engine 50 suffered a fatal heart attack in the line of duty. Jacobsen was overcome by smoke and collapsed while fighting a rooming house fire on S. State Street.
