On February 13, 1946, Fireman First Class John Kohles of Engine Company No. 25 of the Chicago Fire Department died from a heart attack while in performance of a duty at a fire at Archer and Grove Avenues.
Kohles became a member of the Department on March 9, 1925. He left behind a wife and three children.
