On November 5, 1965, Chicago Fire Department Firefighter Norman Young of Engine 13 suffered a fatal heart attack while driving a patient to the hospital in an ambulance. Young collapsed over the steering wheel of the ambulance while traveling on E. Chicago Avenue, crashing the vehicle into a parked car.
