On July 26, 1925, Chicago Fire Department Firefighter John W. Barry of Engine 14 died in the line of duty while responding to a fire on Clybourn Avenue. Barry suffered a fatal skull fracture when he fell off the back of Engine 14 near the intersection of Milton Avenue and Harvey Street.
