On September 27, 1940, Maurice P. O’Connor of the Chicago Fire Insurance Patrol suffered a fatal heart attack in the line of duty. O’Connor collapsed at the Patrol 4 firehouse following an incident, and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Funeral services for O’Connor were held at St. Dorothy’s Church on September 30, and he was interred at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
