Mike Manint joined IFSI in 2014 as a part-time Curriculum Support Specialist in IFSI's Curriculum and Testing Office. Also that same year, Mike became a Field Instructor and continues to assist in the Entry Level and Recruit Firefighting class for IFSI's annual Fire College and the Basic Skills Program for the annual Explorer Cadet Fire School.

Mike began his career as a firefighter in 2005 with the Downs Community Fire Protection District. There he rose through the ranks of Captain and Training Officer, and eventually Fire Chief, a position he held the last four years. While on the department, Mike also achieved certification as a Fire Investigator, and served on the MABAS Division 41 Fire Investigation Team for 7 years.

Mike is also an instructor for Parkland College, where he teaches Management I and Management II in the Fire Service Technology Program. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Science and also a Masters Degree in Emergency Services Management.
