Bio:

Jim Vaughn has been a member of the IFSI team since 1998, first as a stoker and now currently serves as the Regional Representative for 14 Central Illinois counties. He has instructed more than 230 classes for IFSI, including Fireground Company Officer School, Certified Firefighter II Academy, Engine Company Operations and the Cornerstone Program, among others.

Jim started his fire service career in 1991 as a volunteer with the Warrensburg Fire Protection District, advancing to the rank of Captain. He currently serves on the Normal Fire Department, where he serves as a Captain/Shift Commander. He is also the Team Leader for the MABAS 41 Technical Rescue Team.

Jim holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science through Columbia Southern University.
