Bio:Heather Moore joined IFSI in 2006 and was named Trench Rescue Program manager in 2009. In that role, Heather is responsible for scheduling classes and maintaining a roster of qualified instructors. She is also responsible for assuring Trench Rescue curriculum is current and relevant and that program content meets or exceeds state and national standards. In 2012, Heather developed and authored the Trench Student Field Operations Guide, which outlines key components and strategies for trench rescue and serves as a field guide. She updated the manual in 2013. In 2010, Heather was instrumental in developing and designing IFSI’s above ground trench rescue prop.
Heather joined the Springfield Illinois Fire Department in 2000 and currently serves as a Captain. She has led the Fire Service Women of Illinois as its president and vice president. Heather also serves on the MABAS 48 as a Technical Rescue Team leader.
Heather graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in History from High Point University. She also earned an Associate’s degree with honors in Fire Science Technology from Lincoln Land Community College.
