Bio:Josh Sherwood joined IFSI in 2022 as a Curriculum Support Specialist in IFSI’s Curriculum and Testing Office. Josh has received his Master’s degree in Biology from Western Illinois University, his Bachelor’s in Natural Resources & Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois, and his Associates in Fire Science from the Community College of the Air Force. He is currently working towards his Doctor of Education through the Public Safety Management & the Educational Administration and Higher Education department at Southern Illinois University.Josh started his firefighting career in 2002 in the Junior Firefighter program at the Hartsburg Fire Protection District. He joined the Illinois Air National Guard as a Fire Protection Apprentice in 2004 and worked as a full-time Military Crash Fire Rescue I & II at the 182d Airlift Wing from 2020 to 2022. He continues to serve as a Traditional Guardsman today. He volunteered at the Hartsburg Fire Protection District from 2002 to 2009 and the Carroll Fire Protection District in Urbana from 2012 to 2021. |
