Nicor Gas Fire School
The Nicor Gas Fire School program provides First Responders hands-on training and Industrial Guidelines on how to address emergencies involving natural gas and to help improve the lines of communication between First Responders and Nicor Gas. The Nicor Gas Fire School online course allows students to review prerequisites and sign up for in-person training.
In order to provide effective in-person training, entries are limited.
You may be excluded for the following:
Your department is outside the NICOR gas service area
Only 3 members of each department are allowed to participate at a time
If you have been to the Nicor Gas Fire School within the last 3 years
These criteria are designed to allow fire department personnel inside the NICOR service areas to have greater opportunities for in-person training. Students outside the service area, or those who have multiple members signed up, may be allowed access based on class size.
If you are denied entry to the Fire school based on the criteria above, you will be notified and are welcome to sign up on a different day. Please contact NICOR gas with any questions.
