Hands Only CPR with AED
COVID-19 Update: As of June 2020, we have resumed offering this course with the addition of several added safety precautions. Please see our safety notice for more details. Until further notice, all CPR classes will only be offered at the Illinois Fire Service Institute.
The Hands-Only CPR and AED class is intended for individuals who do not have previous CPR/AED training or want a refresher course. HO CPR is a simplified and effective form of resuscitation which emphasizes the importance of chest compressions. Immediate CPR through chest compressions can double or triple a person's chance of survival, which makes it a vital skill to know. This class covers how to approach an unresponsive person, call for help, initiate CPR, and how to apply and use an AED when one becomes available. This course doesn't give any certification, it is just basic training.
