New Lifesaving Opportunity

PulsePoint Respond is now live in Champaign County! If you have been trained in CPR, download the app to be notified of any cardiac arrests in public spaces near you. If you're within walking distance, a notification will be sent to your phone with details on where the emergency is. The app also stores AED locations across campus. Starting CPR as early as possible can have a significant effect on post-arrest survival rates, and this app is a great tool to help make that happen. It also includes tutorials on CPR and AED usage if you need a refresher. Thanks to everyone who works to make this a safer community.
To Our Returning Members

Effective this fall, IEMS members working below the EMT level (formerly referred to as "CPR Members") will be referred to as EMS Aides. This better reflects the work that they do as part of the patient care team beyond just performing CPR. An Aide is able to both observe and assist their Lead EMT, and we're looking forward to offering more opportunities to Aides for training and involvement. Thank you to our Aides for continuing to be a vital part of IEMS!
