On July 15, 1976, James Budz of the Chicago Fire Department died of a heart attack. A Chicago firefighter for fifteen years, Budz was performing firehouse duties at the 1st Battalion fire station when he experienced chest pains and collapsed. He was taken to Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
