Tools and Equipment Projects
Tool and equipment studies elaborate on the uses of a particular set of tools in actual field exercises. They put a given tool, a set of tools, or a proposed tool through a series of rigorous tests which enable us to understand just how useful the tool is in fire and rescue scenarios. Findings in this area are reported to tool manufacturers so that the tools may be modified or enhanced to do the job they were proposed and designed to do. As IFSI develops research in this area, tool patents may be held for new designs and ideas that come about as a direct result of the research.
