Job Description: Dennis Spice is IFSI’s liaison between the Institute and business and industry leaders. In that capacity, he identifies training opportunities within the private sector, develops those relationships and fosters corporate partnerships.Professional Service: •Chairman/CEO of Institutional Advisors, Ltd., a consulting firm he founded in 1995.•Managing partner of Prairie Capital Partners, which leases equipment to companies in the Midwest. •Founding partner and managing member of Open Prairie Ventures I, LP, a venture capital fund that focused on investments in Midwest-based startup companies until its sale in 2006. •Member, Board of Directors for the University of Illinois Employees Credit Union. •Member, Champaign West Rotary. •Provided expert testimony on pension and investment issues before the Department of the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the Illinois General Assembly. •Author of articles on pensions, investments and information systems for Government Finance Review. •Contributed to “Inside Secrets to Venture Capital,” published in 2001. •Co-author of the March 2002 Journal of Financial Planning article “Venture Investing and the Role of Financial Advisors.” Military Service: •Staff Sergeant U.S. Marine Corps, 1968-1977•Served in Vietnam 1969-1970 with 7th Marine Regiment Education: University of Illinois, Executive MBA Program, 1985Eastern Illinois University, Bachelor’s of Arts in Management, 1978 University of the State of New York, Associates of Arts, 1974 |
