Bio:

Chief Heather Moore assumed the role of Deputy Director in August 2021. Heather is a 21-year firefighter, retiring as the Division Chief of Training and Education for the Springfield, Illinois Fire Department.
Heather joined the IFSI team in 2006 as an instructor. Over the past 16 years, she has served as an instructor, program manager, program director, and senior leader. Her areas of expertise are extensive, encompassing every aspect of IFSI training and education courses/classes. Heather’s areas of specific responsibility have been special operations and technical rescue courses, leadership training/education, and instructor development.
Heather has served on numerous state affiliate boards and working groups and led the Fire Service Women of Illinois as President and Vice President. She also served as a Technical Rescue Leader on the MABAS (IL) 48 team.

Heather graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in History from High Point University. She also earned an Associate’s degree with honors in Fire Science Technology from Lincoln Land Community College.
