Bio:

David Ehrenhart joined IFSI as Archivist and Metadata Librarian in 2011. His primary responsibility at the IFSI Library is managing the archives and institutional repository collections. The archives document the overall history of IFSI, while the institutional repository specifically preserves the academic output of the Institute. Another major responsibility involves the IFSI Library's fire history projects, such as the Illinois Firefighter Line of Duty Deaths Digital Image Collection Database (IFLODD). He also regularly contributes to more traditional library tasks, such as cataloging or answering questions at the reference desk.

Prior to his current position, David worked at the Education and Social Science Library at the University of Illinois and at the Illinois Fire Service Institute Library in the position of graduate student worker. He has acted as the Librarian/Historian for the Savoy Fire Department since 2012.

David received his Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Graduate School of Library and Information Science. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science from Monmouth College.
