Vehicle/Machinery Program
Program Description:
After EMS runs, responses to rescues are the next most frequent responses for many fire departments. The Illinois Fire Service Institute offers the most current and up-to-date classes in vehicle and machinery technology -- classes taught utilizing Incident Command system. Vehicle technology is changing yearly, making it necessary for first responders to change the way we perform vehicle rescues.IFSI offers vehicle extrication classes at our Champaign campus and at local departments around the state. Our courses meet OSFM certification and can provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Through the Cornerstone Program, no-cost classes are offered at your department for large truck, bus, vehicle stabilization, basic auto, new car construction and hybrid vehicles.
