Confined Space Program


Program Description: The Illinois Fire Service Institute offers more than ten confined space classes ranging from Awareness through Operations to Technical Rescue. Funded largely by a Federal Homeland Security grant, these classes are designed to prepare responders to operate as a local member of a regional team within the National Incident Management System (NIMS) at a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, or Explosive (CBRNE) Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) event.
