Fire Service Ladders : 1-16 Hours
Student Fee: Class specific
Course Description:
This class works with locally-supplied straight, roof and extension ladders and covers their components, application, inspection and maintenance. Time is spent in the safe and efficient means of removing from the apparatus, carrying to the fire ground, and deploying to a roof, window or wall. Students will extend, lower to an objective, tie off and climb with and without tools and with charged or uncharged hose lines. Locking off and working from the ladder safely are practiced after learning proper positioning for rescue, ventilation and roof access. Specialized raises may be taught if time allows.
NOTE: Protective Clothing Required -- Participants must furnish approved helmet, turn out gear, eye protection, gloves, SCBA and boots for this class. This course is delivered at local fire departments
